End of an era :'(

Ahoy there!

I've just emerged from the pile of books which are contributing to my most final piece of work on my journalism degree (that's a lie... I have spent the whole day cleaning, dying hair and eBaying in order to avoid it, and am now creating a blog to postpone it even further) however I wanted to reflect on my feelings as the last 2 months in my Liverpudlian student home hurriedly disappear day by day...

On Saturday (3 sleeps from now) I shall be attending my Graduation Ball, along with my beautiful housemates, Amy Claire and Dre whom have really become great friends throughout our three years of learning about how to tell stories (journalism) and I honestly believe they will remain life-long friends. My first 2 years certainly did not go so swimmingly for a University student, and I didn't appreciate the whole experience until I landed here... at Garmoyle Road!

Yes, I just hopped over the road in my slippers, mid-blog, with passers-by wondering what the freak I'm doing, and risking the local scallies swiping my iPhone from my bare hands. So please appreciate the effort of this blog.

Anyway, it is within the walls of this modest, distressed, typical student home that I have flourished and really grown into my own skin. If pictures could have sounds and scents attached to them, here would be a few: (I understand that these may be appreciated more by the people they involve, nevertheless...)

  • Any Whitney ballad...
  • "Dre we're leaving"
  • Fried chicken with Nando's sauce
  • Menthol roll ups
  • Many a kind of alcoholic beverage...
  • Strong strong oven cleaner
  • Hairspray, perfumes & other girly smells
  • Hysterical laughter :D
I am so sad to be leaving what I regard as such a memorable and poignant part of my life, but at least a certain social networking site has allowed me to log all the memories with many a photo. Such as ...

To the girls: I wish you all the greatest success in life, and thank you for giving me one of the best years of my life.  I'll miss living with you all so much...
Dre - your slow hilarious comments and pearls of wisdom
Claire - your caring nature and dating mishaps
Amy - your incredible impressions and beautiful shower singing
Dani - your limited eating habits and our funny little chats

So now back to the essay, and after handing it in, 2 months of solid partying before entering the real world!!!
